David Ross Will Rejoin Cubs Sunday

David Ross has been away from the team since testing positive for COVID-19 on September 3, but he’s been cleared to return as of Sunday. The Cubs are 5-2 with bench coach Andy Green running the show, though Ross has still been setting the lineup for each game.

If all goes well, Nico Hoerner might make it back soon as well. He’s been out for over a month with an oblique injury but has been seen doing some light work and still has time for some rehab action with Iowa before the minor league season concludes.
