Cubs Clips: Video Highlights of the Cubs Offensive Explosion Against the Reds
Lost in all the excitement of Jake Arrieta’s no-hitter last night was the fact that the Cubs completely crushed the ball against the Reds. As much as a no-hitter is complete pitching domination, the Cubs bats did it just as much (well…almost) on the offensive side. I’ve never witnessed a more complete dismantling of a baseball team. Going forward I don’t think anyone should question whether Cubs’ fans are too excited about this season.
After that game I don’t want to hear one more pundit say Cubs’ fans shouldn’t get too excited this early. You now see what we see. #cubs

On the offense side of things, Kris Bryant has to be the MVP. He finished the night after going 4-for-6 with four runs and six RBIs, including two home runs, one of which was a grand slam. And that’s how scary good the Cubs are this year, a super star has that kind of night and it barely gets a mention. Scary.
Here’s video of all of Kris Bryant’s four runs including 1) his first inning two-run shot that, little did we know at the time, would be all the runs the Cubs would need, 2) Anthony Rizzo’s three-run home run in the top of the sixth inning, 3) Kris’ grand slam in the top of the seventh inning, and 4) Ben Zobrist’s two-run double in the top of the ninth inning:
And of course, no highlights from last night would be complete without David Ross’ opposite field home run in the top of the sixth inning:

And finally, here’s a link showing Ben Zobrist’s first home run as a Cub. He hammered a ball that was pretty high up in the zone way out to the opposite field. An impressive piece of hitting.
